   I have been writing poetry for a good number of years now. I know I was in around third grade when I started writing and off and on throughout the years I have enjoyed writing many poems. The one thing I suppose I regret the most is that many of my poems I wrote while younger never had a chance to be saved. Most for one reason or the other ended up lost or in the trash can. I would have loved to read some of what I had written so long ago, but alas I guess that shall never happen now. I guess with the fact that computers were not around back when i was a kid attributed allot to not having anything saved.

   Another thing I sort of regret is that I never pursued trying to get my work published as I got a bit older, maybe tried for some greeting card company or something equally as nice where I could have worked and done poetry so often. Maybe like many of you I had a couple of poems published with World of Poetry, and later the Poetry Society, the latter gaining a bit of a bad reputation as them just wanting your money so you would buy their anthology books and other things that had your poetry in them. The poem I wrote to be published in World of Poetry gained me a sort of crystal statue that had the World of Poetry logo encased inside with the name of my poem engraved on a gold plate put on the bottom of the statue.

   In my latter years I just kept writing off and on as a way of expressing myself and sometimes to share with others how I am feeling at any given time. It still is a joy for me to write poetry and now I am pursuing what I should have done along time ago. I am trying to get a couple of books put together of my poetry work. One on my Romantic poetry and one on my Christian/Spiritual poetry. At least get them done and then I can move on to others that I have poems for.
